Beijing, China’s center for foreign exchange

Beijing is China’s capital and the center of the nation’s politics, economy, culture, and foreign exchange. It is a world famous city of history and culture. The abbreviation for Beijing is Jing and the city is located to the north of the northern Chinese plains. The area is 16,410.54 ㎢, and the population is 21.542 million, including the transient population.

1. Climate
Beijing has a typical temperate continental monsoon climate, characterized by hot summers with heavy rainfall, cold and dry winters, and short springs and autumns.
The average annual temperature ranges from 11°C to 13°C, with highs of 35°C to 40°C in the summer and lows of -5°C to -10°C in the winter.
2. Voltage
The voltage level used in China is 220V and most Korean electronic products can be used.
3. Language
The language used is Chinese, while some hotels and attraction sites use English.
4. Currency
The currency used is the Chinese yuan (CNY).

Tiananmen Square

Located at the center of Beijing, Tiananmen Square was built in 1417.

Tiananmen Square is 500 m long, east to west, and 800 m long, south to north, with an area of 440,000 square meters, the largest in the world.

Tiananmen is located north of the square, in the middle is a Monument to the People’s Heroes, to the south is the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong, to the east is the National Museum of China, and to the west is the Great Hall of the People.

Forbidden City

The Forbidden City was the former imperial palace for 500 years from the Ming dynasty to the end of the Qing dynasty. Now, it has been turnedinto a museum.

Usually, the tour starts from the Meridian Gate in the south and ends with the Gate of Divine Might in the north. If you exit the Gate of Divine Might, you will see the 45.7 m tall man-made mountain Jinghshan.

Temple of Heaven

It is a quiet park surrounded by numerous old trees, located in south Beijing. The emperors of the Ming Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty prayed to the sky here for a good harvest.

Ming Tombs

The Ming Tombs, graves of the Ming Dynastic emperors, are located in the Changping Qu prescient, about 50 km away from Beijing. Here, there are graves of 13 Ming Dynasty emperors. It is thus called the Ming Thirteen Mausoleums (Ming Tombs).

Badaling Great Wall

The Great Wall of China is the largest structure in the world, stretching from the east to the west of the northern mountainous region of China, and can be seen from the moon.

Longqingxia Scenic Area

A small valley with beautiful scenery, located about 40 minutes away from the Badaling section of the Great Wall of China. A large escalator is used to climb the mountain. After boating for about 30 minutes on a cruise ship there, when you return, you will come down through a cave with the background of Hsi Yu Chi (Journey to the West). The cave is fantastic.

Summer Palace

This is Beijing’s greatest park. This beautiful, man-made lake includes Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill, which was built using the soil excavated to build Kunming Lake. There are luxurious pavilions and buildings as well.

Golden Mask Dynasty Show

It is a musical performed in Beijing’s largest theme park, Happy Valley, located in the Overseas Chinese Town, which was built with the funds of overseas Chinese. It is a romantic love story between a man and woman, depicted through Chinese ancestral myths in eight stages. The story is told through the mobility of dance and stage decoration.
