Purchase Note

• Check your free baggage allowance before pre-purchasing excess baggage allowance.
• The pre-purchased excess baggage allowance can be canceled and refunded up until 24 hours prior to departure.
• The pre-purchase rate including its currency for the excess baggage applies according to the segment fee of the first port of your Asiana flight departure listed under the 'Fee Guide for Excess Baggage Allowance Pre-purchase'.
• Excess baggage purchase may not be available depending on the currency of purchased ticket. (Only able to purchase with AUD, CNY, EUR, GBP, HKD, IDR, JPY, KRW, SGD, TWD, USD, THB).
• Pre-purchase of baggage may be restricted if there is a discrepancy in payment currency due to itinerary changes, reissue of airline tickets, or changes in the country where it’s processed.
• Baggage purchase is not available after checking-in. Please try again after canceling check-in.
• Purchase is not available for passengers with transfer flights and codeshare flights of other Airlines. (☞Arrivals leading to departures within 24 hours at the same airport are considered transfer connecting flights)
• Prepaid excess baggage allowance may be used by the purchaser only (it is not transferable).
• Purchase is not available for passengers utilizing the PETC, AVIH service.
• The total payment will be based on total number of baggage. (including pre-purchased baggage)
• Pre-purchase excess baggage allowance can only be applied to excess baggage. It cannot be used to cover excess weight.
• The baggage with pre-purchased excess baggage allowance must weigh less than 23 kg and the sum of its three dimensions must be less than 158 cm (when the baggage exceeds the weight or volume limits, additional excess baggage charges will apply).
• Baggage with pre-purchased excess baggage allowance may only be checked at the check-in counter only (you may not enter through the boarding gate).

Refund Policy

• Refunds for pre-purchased excess baggage allowance can be made until 24 hours before departure through the Asiana Airlines website – Booking Details.
• No refunds or changes can be made if you cancel or change your reservation or do not board your flight within 24 hours before departure.
• Refunds are possible in the following cases, even within 24 hours before departure.
  • In the event that Asiana Airlines cancels the flight due to inclement weather or maintenance reasons
  • In the event that the booker changes the reservation to a higher class while traveling to the same destination
• In the event that baggage is lighter than the pre-purchased excess baggage allowance, a refund will not be made for the unused weight.
• If you change or cancel the itinerary of your flight ticket after pre-purchasing baggage, the refund process will differ depending on the original ticketing office.
  • Tickets purchased through the Asiana Airlines website/reservation center: Pre-purchased baggage will be automatically refunded and can be repurchased.
  • Tickets purchased from other places: Pre-purchased baggage will not be automatically refunded. Please apply for a refund at the reservation center or branch.
