Free baggage allowance for international flights

When connecting to another airline, the airline’s free baggage allowance standards may differ from ours.
Bags may only be checked in at check-in counters or through automated baggage check-in kiosks before entering the departure hall.

Permitted dimensions

Size (sum of three dimensions): Not exceeding A+B+C = 158cm(62 inch) (including handles and wheels)

Regardless of your class, the maximum size per bag is 158cm(62 inch).

  • Security screening supervisors at the airport or the air carrier may refuse to accept your checked baggage if they believe there are items in your baggage that could compromise the safety of the aircraft or the passenger crew.
  • The following items are prohibited from being transported in checked baggage, and must be transported in your carry-on baggage.
    • Items that are easily damaged, items that are prone to decomposition
    • Health related medicine
    • Expensive personal electronics or data such as laptops, computers, mobile phones, cameras, and filming equipment
    • Cash, expensive or valuable items such as jewelry or precious metals, securities, documents such as contracts and papers, passports, IDs, samples, antiques, artwork, and other items that are difficult to value

When flying domestic:

  • Free baggage allowance for domestic flights is based on weight.
  • Baggage check may be denied if the sum of the three sides of each piece of baggage exceeds 158 cm.
    (Please speak with the airline in advance if you have baggage with a sum of three sides between 159 - 203 cm).
  • Domestic flights connecting with international flights are subject to free baggage allowance regulations for international flights.
  • Domestic codeshare flights with Air Busan are subject to Air Busan’s free baggage allowance regulations.
  • To prevent damage and avoid injury to the baggage handler, all baggage items must be less than 32 kg.
    Baggage check may be denied for baggage that exceeds 32 kg.
  • Plastic wrap for baggage is available for a fee, Refunds not permitted. Price KRW 2,000(73cm x 110cm)
  • Depending on the airport situation at the departure point, baggage (such as strollers) may be refused at the boarding gate
  • Large baggage on domestic flights is subject to a KRW 10,000 handling fee.
  • Excess baggage is subject to a KRW 2,000 per kilogram.
