Service Guide

Eligibility
  • Elderly passengers age 70 or older who are traveling without a guardian
Applicable Routes
  • Available on all Asiana Airlines routes (not including codeshare flights)
Services Provided
  • Check-in at a dedicated counter at the airport of departure; a staff member is assigned after immigration inspection to accompany the elderly passenger to the boarding gate.
  • Passengers may request wheelchair assistance or electronic cart assistance (available only at Incheon International Airport terminals)
  • On board, elderly passengers are offered assistance when filling in immigration papers necessary at the airport of arrival.
  • Once the passenger arrives at the destination city, a staff member will be on standby to assist the passenger with immigration processes, baggage claim, and to the arrival gate.
  • Notice
    • Dedicated counters for elderly passengers may not be available at all airports. Please contact a staff member for assistance.
    • Service may be unavailable depending on local regulations and airport circumstances.
      • San Francisco (SFO) and Los Angeles(LAX) International Airport do not permit assistance with the immigration process for arriving passengers.
    • Elderly passengers use the same immigration checkpoints and customs inspection points as standard passengers.
    • Please be advised that this is not a baggage-porting service, and the passenger is responsible for any costs incurred in the process of handling the passenger’s baggage.
    • When using connecting flights
      • For passengers transferring abroad from a non-Asiana Airline flight to an Asiana Airline flight, please request assistance at Asiana Airlines service counter at the transfer airport.
      • For passengers transferring abroad from an Asiana Airline flight to a non-Asiana Airline flight, a staff member will be assigned to provide assistance to the connecting Airline counter, or boarding gate.
        (in the event that airport circumstances limit staff assignment, a staff member will accompany the passenger as much as possible under the circumstances)
    • Passengers who have requested this service are provided a special lanyard at the airport. This will identify the person to assisting staff, so please wear it in full view and remove only after arriving at the destination.

How to Request

    Service Requests
    • Please apply through the Asiana Reservation Center up to 7 days before departure.

    Submit application
    • Please state the following when you apply for service.
      • Reason for service application
      • Required service location (departure airport/arrival airport/transfer airport)
  • 03
    Board the fleet after being guided by the staff member at the departure city airport (check-in counter)
    *Please go to the dedicated counter (B32) at Incheon airport or the Asiana Airlines check-in counters at foreign airports at least 2 hours before departure.

    Guidance by airport crew at arrival city (passenger pick-up location)
    • The airport crew will guide you up to the arrival gate, which is the passenger pick-up location, but they will not check if you met with your party or that you were able to find transportation.
      Therefore, those requiring pick-up must make sure to wait at the proper location in advance.
