Asiana Airlines

How to Use

  • A passenger may only use the mileage redemption service to pay an excess baggage charge when he or she boards a flight operated by Asiana Airlines.
  • The application is accepted at point of check-in at the airport on the date of departure.
  • Applicable to checked baggage only, and not applicable to special baggage occupying a seat.
  • Only miles earned before boarding the flight may be redeemed to pay baggage overcharges.
    (Miles to be earned by boarding the flight cannot be used.)
  • A passenger who wishes to pay his/her excess baggage charge with miles can only pay with miles he or she has earned
    (Passenger is not allowed to use transferred miles, family miles and Asiana Corporate Club Miles for this purpose.)
  • The excess baggage charge is based on the excess baggage handling policy of Asiana Airlines, according to the quantity by type, weight and size.

Zones for excess baggage

  • Zone 1: Short distance routes that are within one hour and 30 minutes of flight time from Korea (Fukuoka, Kumamoto, Weihai, Yantai, Dalian, Qingdao)
  • Zone 2: Korea - Japan, China, Northeast Asia
  • Zone 3: Within Asia (all other regions than Zone 1 and Zone 2)
  • Zone 4: Asia - Europe, Middle East, Oceania
Excess Baggage Mileage Redemption for Korea Domestic Route

200 miles will be deducted per 1 kg of excess baggage.
※ 1,000 miles will be deducted for each large baggage. Please refer to domestic consignment baggage regulation for subject and criteria.

  • When departing or returning using connected flights operated by other airlines, the excess baggage charge is applied according to the free baggage policy of the airline. Please check before departure.
  • Even if the sum of the three sides is less than 292 cm, transportation may be refused depending on airport circumstances and loading space on the fleet.

Terms of Lounge Use with Miles

  • Available only when you hold a boarding pass for a flight operated by Asiana Airlines
  • Free lounge use benefits are offered to Asiana Club Diamond or higher members and one accompanying passenger.
  • The passenger accompanying the Diamond or higher member may use the lounge with the miles of the Diamond or higher member.

  • 3.g. If a Diamond Member uses the Business Class Lounge at the Incheon International Airport, three accompanying passengers may use the Lounge. One accompanying passenger may use the Lounge for free, and two accompanying passengers may use the Lounge by redeeming 3,000 miles per passenger, for a total of 6,000 miles from the account of the Diamond Member.

Conditions for use

  • May only be used on regular Asiana flights that are operated by Asiana Airlines.
  • Unaccompanied Child Service: This service is offered to passengers between 5 – 12 years of age traveling without a guardian in international flight.
  • Unaccompanied Youth Service: This service is offered to passengers between 12 – 17 years of age traveling without a guardian in international flight.

Service Details and Mileage Deduction

  • Airport crew member provides guidance at the place of transfer (escorts to crew member of the airline operating the connected flight)
  • Staff in charge will guide passenger to immigration checkpoint and departure gate. At destination airport, the staff will guide passenger to immigration checkpoint, receive luggage, and to guest pick-up waiting area or to transfer airport.
  • This service can be paid with mileage and the fee is deducted as follows.
    • Unaccompanied Child Services: 15,000 mile deduction per segment
    • Unaccompanied Youth Services: 20,000 mile deduction per segment
  • The above service is only available temporarily and mileage deduction standards are subject to change at any time.

How to apply for service/procedure

    • Please apply for service through the Asiana Reservation Center up to 24 hours before departure and receive a confirmation.
    • In the application, please provide contact information (address, phone number) and a detailed profile of the guardian who will send-off/pick-up the child at the departure/arrival city.

  • The service may not be available if the necessary documents are not submitted at the airport.
  • The personal information and the contact number of the guardians who will be at the airports of departure and arrival shall be presented at point of service request.
  • Guardian must be present at departure and arrival airport.

Criteria for Usagea

  • You can request the service using miles at the check-in counter at the airport on the departure date (transportation of your pet by carry-on or checked luggage may not be allowed without pre-approval. Contact the reservation center before your travel date to get a confirmation. For information about traveling with pets, click the ‘accompanying pets’ button below)
  • Only applies to pets. Does not apply to other special baggage occupying seats on board.
  • You may pay for your pets only by using miles accumulated up until the boarding date of the flight.
    (Miles earned after boarding the applicable flight cannot be used in advance)
  • You can pay only use your own mileage to pay for your pets.
    (Transferred, Family Mileage, and Asiana Corporate Club mileage are not applicable)
  • The mileage redemption service for pets applies only on Asiana Airlines operating flights.

How to Use

  • paid seat Services are subject to seat availability upon arrival at the airport on the day of departure.
  • Payment for the paid seat services may only be made with mileage earned up until the boarding.
    • Mileage to be earned cannot be used.
  • Additional services should be paid only with the passenger's own mileage.
    • Endorsed mileage, Family mileage, and Asiana Corporate Club mileage are not applicable.
  • Preferred seats may be paid with mileage only for Asiana Airlines flights operated by Asiana Airlines.
